Maintenance & Care > Oxidising
In order to destroy odours and wastes such as perspiration, cosmetics and body oils it is necessary to oxidise your hot tub on a weekly basis. This will ensure increased bather comfort and restore sparkle to lack luster water.
Super-Chlorination (Spa Granular Shock) As the spa is use, non filterable wastes such as body oils and perspiration etc, along with the more resistant strains of bacteria can accumulate. In some cases this can lead to the water becoming dull, irritating and unattractive. To help prevent this from occurring the spa should be Super-Chlorinated on a regular basis to remove excess organics. N.B this process should only be carried out when the spa is not in use, the lid of the spa should be removed and the product added directly to the spa water as per the instructions ensuring that the filtration system is in operation.
Chlorine-Free Shock (Spa Non-Chlorine Shock) This is an alternative means of shocking the water that does not add any chlorine to the spa working only as an oxidiser, bathing can therefore quickly be resumed. The same product is also used in conjunction with Sodium Bromide to form a Bromine based sanitiser.
