Delivery & Commissioning

The following guidelines are designed to aid the smooth delivery process of your new spa. We would kindly ask that you take the time to read through the information given and advise us immediately of any foreseeable difficulties.

Delivery

The spa will be delivered either on a trailer or a flat bed vehicle measuring up to 7 meters long 2.1 meters wide and 2.4 meters high. Please ensure there is adequate access for such a vehicle to reach your house / driveway.

Equipment

The spa will be sited using a Spa dolly, which consists of a metal structure with 4 wheels. The Spa can be mounted sideways onto the trolley this will allow the unit to be manoeuvred through narrow entrances and gateways.

Access

Please make a careful note of the maximum spa dimensions (for full details please refer to individual product specification) & check that we will have enough room to site the spa in the desired location. Please take into consideration any obstructions such as electrical boxes, guttering, pipe work, low hanging trees, dwarf walls etc. Please be aware that you will also need to allow for the Spa Dolly and spa packaging. If you are in any doubt please talk to us.

Manpower

We will supply two men to deliver & commission your spa. Assistance will be required however, from suitable ABP's in the event that access is restricted, difficult or involves any lifting of the spa, additionally we may require assistance with larger spas. Should you require Anglia Hottubs to supply extra manpower you will need to advise us of this prior to scheduling the delivery & commissioning date. Extra manpower will be charged at an additional cost.

Base

The spa must be placed on a firm flat surface (e.g. concrete, patio or decking), which, is capable of taking the weight of the spa. It is not appropriate to site the spa on a grassed area as it may sink and could cause damage to the lawn and/or the spa.

Water Supply

It is strongly recommended that all water used in spas is supplied directly from the mains supply. On the day of delivery there must be an appropriate water supply to fill the spa (i.e. hosepipe & outside tap).

Electrical Supply

Please ensure that on the day of delivery there is an appropriate electrical supply in place. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require clarification of your spa's electrical requirements.

All Electrical Work MUST be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician and must comply in all aspects with the current I.E.E. Regulations and be in accordance with the recommendations of the NICEIC.

Please note that for insurance purposes on the day of delivery our installer will need to inspect the Certificate of Electrical Safety.

The electrical supply requirements will vary depending on the spa. We would recommend a minimum cable size as follows:

Spas requiring a 13 or 16 amp electrical supply we require a minimum of 2mm armoured cable.
Spas requiring a 20 amp electrical supply we require a minimum of 4mm armoured cable.
Spas requiring a 32 amp electrical supply we require a minimum of 5mm armoured cable.

  • A 3-Core Steel Wire (armoured) Single Phase Electrical Supply direct from the main fuse box is required. This supply MUST be protected by means of a Residual Current Device (RCD) or Circuit Breaker.
  • Additionally we would strongly recommend running the cable through an isolation switch, which again should be waterproof and sited at least two meters away from the spa. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RCD / ISOLATION SWITCH MUST NEVER BE FITTED INSIDE THE SPA CABINET.
  • Irrespective of the location of the spa (indoors or outdoors) all buried and/or exposed cable MUST be armoured and protected by a suitable means.
  • All spas will need to be hard wired regardless of the electrical specification of the spa. THE USE OF PLUGS IS NOT PERMITTED.
  • Please ensure that the cable is long enough to reach the desired location of the spa with a minimum 3 meter color coded tail end to connect into the spa control box. The tail end should be long enough to reach the furthest corner of the spa when placed in its desired location. (Approx. 3 meters).
  • If applicable all electrical equipment within the same room or within possible flooding area MUST be securely earthed and protected by an RCD of the current balance type, of not more than 30m A sensitivity and shall be mounted at least 1 meter above the floor. Additionally all electrical equipment MUST be properly encased so that it is not possible for contact to be made with live connections.

N.B. Our installers will only be responsible for the connection of the tail end of the cable to the Spa Main Control Box. In the event of the supplied electricity failing to comply with safety standards THE INSTALLATION OF THE SPA WILL NOT TAKE PLACE. If a second visit is required as a result of an incorrect or unsafe electricity supply then a re-commissioning fee of £295.00 + VAT will be charged.
